Naujaat is a picturesque hamlet located in the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut, Canada. Governed by a dedicated group of leaders, the Mayor and Council of Naujaat work tirelessly to serve their community, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of its residents.

Mayor Kevin Tegumiar of Naujaat is the elected head of the municipal government, serving as a key representative and advocate for the community.

Deputy Mayor Peter Mannik is the elected member of Council who works alongside the Mayor to govern the community and acts in the Mayor’s absence.

Councilor John Goss is an elected member of Council.
Councilor Goss ran for council because he wants to give back to the community that he loves and believes he can contribute to making this home better. John is originally from Halifax and has been in retail for 37 years, but he loves the snow and living in Naujaat. His daughters live in Coal Harbour.

Councilor Venessa Green is an elected member of Council.
Councilor Green has been in Naujaat for 6 years and is also the Co-op Store General Manager. She ran for council because she wanted to be involved in the business of the community and help make a difference. Her best companion is her cat Calli.

Councilor Richard Sr. Angotialuk is an elected member of Council.
ᑲᑎᒪᔨ ᐊᖑᑎᐊᓗᒃ ᐃᓅᓚᐅᖅᓯᒪᔪᖅ ᐱᕈᖅᓴᓪᓗᓂᓗ ᓇᐅᔮᓂ ᑲᑎᒪᔨᐅᓚᐅᖅᓯᒪᓪᓗᓂᓗ. ᑲᑎᒪᔨᙳᕋᓱᓚᐅᖅᐳᖅ ᐃᑲᔪᕈᒪᓪᓗᓂ ᓄᓇᓕᖓᓂ. ᖁᕕᐊᓱᒃᐳᖓ ᐃᑲᔪᕋᒪ ᓄᓇᓕᑦᑎᓐᓂᒃ.
Councilor Angotialuk is born and raised in Naujaat and was a councilor before. he ran for council so he can help his community out. “I am happy helping out our community”

Councilor Goretti Tinashlu is an elected member of Council.
ᑲᑎᒪᔨ ᑎᓇᔅᓗ ᓅᓚᐅᖅᓯᒪᔪᖅ ᓇᐅᔮᓄᑦ ᑲᖏᖅᖠᓂᕐᒥᙶᖅᖢᓂ 1971−ᖑᑎᓪᓗᒍ ᑲᑎᑎᑕᐅᓚᐅᖅᓯᒪᓪᓗᓂᓗ ᓄᓇᓕᖕᒥᐅᑕᒥᒃ. ᑕᐃᒪᙵᓂᑦ ᑕᒫᓂᕐᒥᐅᑕᐅᓕᖅᑐᖅ. ᐱᔾᔪᑎᒋᔭᖓ ᓂᕈᐊᒐᒃᓴᐅᓇᓱᒃᖢᓂ ᑲᑎᒪᔨᙳᕋᓱᒃᖢᓂ ᐃᑲᔪᕈᒪᓪᓗᓂ ᓄᓇᓕᖕᓂᒃ.
Councilor Tinashlu moved to Naujaat from Rankin Inlet in 1971 and married a local. She has lived here since then. Her reason for running for council was to see if she could make a difference and help the community.
